The ICC stated that Pant’s conduct was a breach of Article 2.8 of the Code of Conduct, which relates to “showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during an international match.”
While the breach does not carry a fine or suspension, Pant received:
- An official reprimand
- One demerit point added to his disciplinary record
This is Pant’s first offense in the past 24 months, which means no further action will be taken. However, repeated offenses could lead to fines or bans in future matches.
